Ravi Zacharias was a prominent Christian apologist and evangelist who founded Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM). He was born in India in and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was very young. After converting to Christianity as a teenager, Zacharias felt called to defend the Christian faith and share the gospel message with skeptics and seekers around the world. He was heavily influenced by the ministry of evangelist Billy Graham and studied at Trinity International University, where he earned a Master of Divinity.
In the s, Zacharias began an itinerant ministry focused on engaging with youth, visiting university campuses as a guest speaker. A four-month investigation found the late Ravi Zacharias leveraged his reputation as a world-famous Christian apologist to abuse massage therapists in the United States and abroad over more than a decade while the ministry led by his family members and loyal allies failed to hold him accountable.
He used his need for massage and frequent overseas travel to hide his abusive behavior, luring victims by building trust through spiritual conversations and offering funds straight from his ministry.

The first time I met Ravi Zacharias I was doing postgraduate work in theology and hoping to one day serve the Lord with apologetics. Ravi Zacharias was born Frederick Antony Ravi Kumar Zacharias on March 26, , in Chennai (then Madras), India.
