Why I visited Abiodun, by Gboyega Isiaka
The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the last governorship election in Ogun State, Gboyega Isiaka (GNI), has expressed a belief in the present administration even though he did not win.
He said himself and his larger political family, the Believe Movement, have “total confidence that the present administration in the state would take the state to a higher pedestal.”
Isiaka, who spoke yesterday after leading his political movement on a visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said with what is on the ground, the administration was moving in the right direction.
He said: “I am not ADC. I only contested on the platform of the ADC. But I am a very strong member of the ADC. ADC has its national and state chairmen but I have come because I led a political movement into ADC some months ago, So, I have come here on the platform of that movement.
“The majority of us are in ADC but we are not here to talk about the ADC because ADC has its own procedure of going about things. Let me assure you that positive things between the relationship of the Believe Movement and the All Progress

There are many contestants for the Ogun West senatorial seat? Why is the senatorial tussle tougher than expected this time around, especially within your party APC?
That is the nature of politics and democracy is about contest and numbers. In the whole gamut of political struggle, every available office will be keenly contested by all that have interest in it; because power is never served on a plate. In Ogun State for example, there are 39 positions being vied for. 26 House of Assembly, 9 House of Representatives seat, three Senate and one Governor. You never can tell which one is going to be tough because it depends on the features of aspirants for a particular position. Sometimes, the process for an Assembly seat may be tougher than that of governorship. Each aspiration has its own peculiarities. The Beginning
I was born in February into the family of late Prince Tijani Adebowale Isiaka and Alhaja Adijat Agbeke Isiaka of Remo Quarters, Imeko in Imeko Afon Local government area of Ogun state. My father was a respected transporter, philanthropist, community leader and politician in the then Egbado district and my mother is a trader. Growing up in Imeko was not much of a challenge for me as a little boy as I learnt very early in life that, to become great you must endure whatever situation you find yourself, and coming from a very strict, religious and disciplined home I had no choice but to conform to the best standards possible. This to a large extent moulded me into the person I am today.
