Bishop of Dover: The Rev Dr Rose Hudson-Wilkin to be consecrated
The first black woman to become a Church of England bishop will be consecrated during a ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral.
In June it was announced chaplain to the speaker of the house, The Rev Dr Rose Hudson-Wilkin, will be the new Bishop of Dover.
She said she feels a "bit like a bride" ahead of Tuesday's consecration.
Dr Hudson-Wilkin succeeds the Rt Revd Trevor Willmott who retired from the role in May.
She was 14 when she joined the ministry and said she never thought becoming a bishop would be possible.

She said: "When I was first called into ministry women weren't even allowed to be ordained, so Bishop was not in my frame of reference.
"I'm feeling a bit like a bride. All the pensive moments but also equally excited, a sense of awe and a sense of perhaps 'is this real?'"

Dr Hudson-Wilkin said: "I'm excited, I've got lots of new people to meet, to get to know, and that fills me with joy."

Rose Hudson-Wilkin has been appointed as the next Bishop of Dover, making her the Church of England's first black female bishop when she takes up the position in November.
She succeeds the Rt Rev Trevor Willmott following his retirement last month.
Rev Hudson-Wilkin is highly regarded as the Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons, a key pastoral role in Parliament that she has held for nearly a decade.
She will be consecrated in a service at St Paul's Cathedral on 19 November and installed at Canterbury Cathedral on 30 November.
In addition to being Chaplain to the Speaker, Rev Hudson-Wilkin, who was born and raised in Jamaica, has served until now as Priest in Charge of St Mary-at-Hill, in London.

Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin was born and grew up in Montego Bay. She was ordained deacon in and priest in
For 16 and a half years she served as a priest in Hackney. In she was appointed as a Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen and in , she became the 79th (and first female) Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons. She leads the prayers in the House of Commons daily and has pastoral care of members and staff of the Palace of Westminster. In , she additionally became the Priest in Charge of the city Church, St Mary-at-Hill.
She has served as a member of the General Synod of the Church of England and also as one of the Panel of Chairs of the Synod. She represented the Church of England at the World Council of Churches in Zimbabwe and Brazil and served as its priest representative on the Anglican Consultative Council.
