FORMER actress and ex-Pagsanjan mayor Maita Sanchez died at the age of
Her husband, former Laguna governor ER Ejercito, announced the death of Maita, also known as Girlie Javier, via a Facebook post.
According to ER, his wife succumbed to endometrial cancer at p.m. Sunday.
Maita is survived by ER and their six children Eric, Jet, Jerico, Jhulia, Diego and Gabriela.
The Ejercito family is requesting prayers and mass offerings for Maita.
“Eternal rest grant unto her, O, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God. Rest in peace,” ER, in his social media post, said.
ER said a wake and a daily mass at 7 p.m. will be held until November 9 at their ancestral home in Pagsanjan, Laguna.

ER expressed gratitude to all supporters for their love and prayers, emphasizing that Maita is an exceptional woman in her work.
"Mayor Maita was an outstanding multi-awarded local chief executive () who brought life, joy, and integrity into the significant programs and projects of Pagsanjan, which is now recognized as the tourist capital of Laguna," Ejercto added in his post.
