The University of Dayton has redesigned and expanded its online Erma Bombeck museum, which celebrates the life and work of one of America&#;s greatest humorists.
A repository for scholars, humorists, journalists, authors, essayists and bloggers, the Erma Bombeck Collection&#;features all things Erma &#; from family photographs and biographical book excerpts to Good Morning America clips and Maggie sitcom episodes.
Searching for a bibliography of Bombeck&#;s writing, including her books, introductions to books, magazine articles, newspaper articles, columns and student writings at the University of Dayton? It&#;s here &#; along with her eighth-grade report card and the original marketing brochure for her syndicated column, which described her as a &#;fresh comic discovery.&#;
&#;It&#;s our hope that the museum will not just celebrate the life and legacy of my mom and her contributions to popular American humor, but expand her interest to a new generation of writers," said Matt Bombeck, Erma&#;s son and a Los Angeles screenwriter.

Qualcuno mi ha chiesto giorni fa se, potendo rinascere, avrei vissuto la vita in maniera diversa.
Lì per lì ho risposto di no, poi ci ho pensato un pò su e…
Potendo rivivere la mia vita, avrei parlato meno ed ascoltato di più.
Non avrei rinunciato ad invitare a cena gli amici soltanto perché il mio tappeto aveva qualche macchia e la fodera del divano era stinta.
Avrei mangiato briciolosi panini nel salotto buono e mi sarei preoccupata molto meno dello sporco prodotto dal caminetto acceso.
Avrei trovato il tempo di ascoltare il nonno quando rievocava gli anni della sua giovinezza.
Non avrei mai preteso in un giorno di estate, che i finestrini della macchina fossero alzati perché avevo appena fatto la messa in piega.
Non avrei lasciato che la candela a forma di rosa si sciogliesse, dimenticata nello sgabuzzino.
L’avrei consumata io a forza di accenderla.
Mi sarei stesa sul prato con i bambini senza badare alle macchie d’erba sui vestiti.
Avrei pianto e riso di meno guardando la televisione e di più osservando la vita.

Erma Bombeck (Fiste) graduated with an English degree from the University of Dayton in , which she credited with launching her writing career. Born in Bellbrook, Ohio, Bombeck had a passion for writing from a young age; she contributed to The Owl, the school newspaper at Emerson Junior High in Dayton, and later to Dayton Cooperative High School’s newspaper.
