Reem Al Hashimy
Minister of State for International Cooperation since February , United Arab Emirates.
She has been the CEO of the Dubai Expo City Authority since July 15, , and the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Cares Foundation, and a member of the UAE Soft Power Council. She also manages the International Affairs Office of the Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in addition to her responsibilities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in managing bilateral relations between the UAE and the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, India, Pakistan, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
She joined the federal government in as a Minister of State, and assumed the position of representative of the Supreme Preparatory Committee for “Expo Dubai ,” and the position of Director General of the “Expo Dubai Office.” She also held the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the “Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.”
She began her work as a trade attaché, then as deputy ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Washington State in the United States of America. He

Reem al Hashimy was appointed to the UAE Cabinet as Minister of State in February In February , Reem was sworn in as Minister of State for International Cooperation, in the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to this, Reem led the UAE’s bid to host the World Expo in Dubai. She served as Managing Director of the Expo Dubai mega-event, following which she was appointed CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum. Additionally, Reem manages the Vice President’s Office for Political Affairs.
She continues to serve as the Chairperson for Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organisation, with the aim of improving access to quality education in developing countries.
She was also the former chairperson of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, which drives the UAE’s global competitiveness across many sectors and has been appointed as Chairperson of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.

A Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and French from Tufts University, Al Hashimi pursued her Master’s from Harvard University before starting her first job as Commercial Attaché, and then as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the UAE in Washington, DC. There she was very much involved in the issues like security, trade, economic and social concerns, in regards to US-UAE relationship.
