Helen Cadbury was born in at Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England. She was the second daughter of Richard Cadbury, second president of the Cadbury Chocolate Company and son of its founder, and his second wife, Emma Wilson.[1] Helen had four older half-siblings from her father's previous marriage.

In , Helen married Charles McCallon Alexander, evangelistic hymn writer and song leader, at Birmingham, England.[3]. For the next fourteen years, Helen toured with her husband, known to all as Charlie, conducting women's ministry alongside her husband's ministry. Helen and Charlie revived her Pocket Testament League in and distributed Bibles around the world as an adjunct to his singing ministr
A Teen’s Extraordinary Vision
The Pocket Testament League began in , led by a year old girl. One night, at a meeting, she gave her life to Jesus. She was so excited she went to school and told her best friend that she, last night, had become a Christian!
Her best friend said, “I’m a Christian, I go to church.” Helen is said to have responded, “I don’t think going to church makes you a Christian.” She must have said it with kindness. The next day Helen brought her Bible to school, and the two of them read it. Helen’s friend read a little more at home and prayed to receive Jesus.
The two of them set out to invite everyone in their school to read the Bible with them. 80 students accepted Jesus into their hearts.

We werent familiar with the Pocket Testament League until a few weeks ago when someone handed us a pocket-sized Gospel of John. In the back it included the challenging question: Whats in your pocket? Keys? Wallet? Small change? Why not use your pocket to change someones life by filling it with the power of Gods Word?
We discovered that the Pocket Testament League has been around for years and has distributed over ,, Gospels around the world! All of this has been accomplished through the work of enthusiastic volunteer members. Moreover, all of this was started by a teenage girl from England named Helen Cadbury!
